    With over 40 years of experience in Speech/Language Pathology, Melanie H. Johnston, M.A./SLP/CAS is owner and Executive Director at BRITE Success, LLC. Melanie holds a BS degree in Speech Pathology from Texas Christian University and an MA degree in Early Childhood Intervention and Special Education from the University of Texas, Austin. She co-founded The Bynum School in Midland, Texas in 1983 and has been at the forefront of providing services to individuals with intellectual developmental disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorder, as well as their families and professionals.

    Melanie’s expertise lies in implementing interventions that focus on developing communication, behavioral, and readiness skills for individuals across the lifespan. She also specializes in low incidence disabilities and AAC/AT devices. Melanie has worked as a lead Speech/Language Pathologist, AT/AAC team lead, and Autism/Behavior Specialist in public schools, private practice, and in collaboration with other agencies and service providers.

    At BRITE Success, LLC, Melanie works with public and private agencies and school systems across the country, providing trainings to faculty, professionals, and families. She has presented nationally and published numerous papers, including co-authoring the RRP-TI Rapid Response Program to Intervention. She has also served as adjunct faculty in Special Education at the University of Texas, Austin.
