Speech Language Pathologist
ASHA, Spero Ally of Stuttering
Tomball, Texas
My name is Jennifer Broad and I have been a Speech Language Pathologist for 29 years. I currently work as a Speech Language Pathologist in Klein ISD and I am also the owner of Broad Speech Therapy, PLLC. In the public schools, I have worked as a campus Speech Language Pathologist and I currently work as an SLP Evaluator for the district. In my private practice, I work with children with communication disorders and within the last years expanded to working with adults who stutter as well.
Working in the public schools and having stuttering run in my family, has helped me develop a strong passion for working with students who stutter. I have continued to attend courses to ensure that I am providing the best evidenced based practice for students and adults. These courses have not only helped me earn my Spero Ally Stuttering Seal but also helped me be a leader in my school district regarding stuttering. In my district I have had leadership roles in providing training, mentorship and support on stuttering to the Speech Language Pathologists; I have also helped facilitate and lead a Stuttering night for our students who stutter and their parents. Being able to have students who stutter be around other students who stutter gives a powerful message that they are not alone. Building a relationship with parents by providing them with education on stuttering and opportunities to talk to other parents who have children that stutter, helps support their journey as well.
