Patti Solomon-Rice, Ph.D. CCC-SLP, enjoys professional volunteerism and has served as chairs of ASHA’s Council for Clinical Certification, Board of Ethics and the Continuing Education Board. She is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the Texas Speech-Language-Hearing Association Foundation and is chair of the Research Awards Committee.
Patti also served as a consultant, contributed to the development of, and earned, a Trauma-Informed Educator (TIE) micro-credential from the non-profit organization Community Resilience Initiative (CRI), through a grant from the University of Incarnate Word Occupational Therapy Doctorate Program. She was awarded certification as a Trauma-Informed Specialist from CRI in 2024.
Patti’s research interests include the areas of early intervention services and AAC. She is widely published and has presented at numerous international, national, and statewide conventions and workshops. She was employed as the Founding Director and Associate Professor of the Woolfolk School at Our Lady of the Lake University, Clinic Director at San Francisco State University, and Clinic Coordinator at San Jose State University. Prior to employment in university settings, she was a private practitioner and provided clinical services for over 30 years.
